PRSA-LA Announces Producer/Director for 2010 PRism Awards Show
Seel, a freelance producer/director with credits spanning more than 20 years, will produce and direct the awards program, including the development of special video and graphics packages. PRSA-LA’s PRism Awards will be presented on Nov. 10 at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel.
“Our PRism Awards honor the best in the public relations in Los Angeles, and with Michael producing and directing our 2010 show it will be an entertaining and memorable evening,” said Eric Moses, president of PRSA-LA. “This year’s show is going to be a celebration of PR in Los Angeles and with Michael’s creative talents and award show expertise it will be the PR event of the year,” added Moses.
Seel is the producing director for the Hollywood Awards, a show he’s produced for five years and for which The New York Times proclaimed as “the unofficial kick-off to the awards show season!” He has directed the American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards 16 years in a row.
As a special event producer, Seel has worked on six Writers Guild Awards, a PBS special honoring writer Larry Gelbart, Bank of America’s United Way Kick-Off Gala, Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Awards, iPop!, and ABC Television Affiliates Gala.
Seel has professional experience in public relations, having served as public affairs coordinator for the Writers Guild of America, West, where he handled special events and media relations for the entertainment labor union from 1999 to 2002.
As executive director of Boston Court Performing Arts Center, he oversees the award-winning Theatre @ Boston Court and Music at the Court programs as well as day-to-day operations of the intimate, state-of-the-art facility located in Pasadena, Calif.
He serves as vice-president of the Playhouse District Association, a business district alliance in Pasadena as well as on the advisory committees for the Pasadena Art & Ideas Festival and the Florence (Italy) International Theatre Company.

LOS ANGELES (August 9, 2010) - The Public Relations Society of America’s, Los Angeles Chapter (PRSA-LA), announced today that Michael Seel, producing director for the Hollywood Awards, will serve as producer /director for the chapter’s 2010 PRism Awards Show. Now in its forty-sixth year, this annual “must attend” awards show recognizes public relations excellence and is the largest gathering of leaders from Los Angeles public relations agencies, corporations, non-profits and government organizations.
